WHAT IS BRAZILIAN ZOUK?
"Brazilian Zouk is a partner dance originating from Brazil. Also known as zouk-lambada, the dance is a descendant of lambada, the music & dance style that swept over the world like a storm in the late 1980's. Depending on the style of Brazilian Zouk, you can see a close connection embrace and long graceful steps, strong hip movements, body isolations and upper-body torsions, wild spins and whip-like head movements. It is danced by people of all ages in events around the world."

Established in 2020, RVA Zouk Movement is an organization dedicated to raising awareness for Brazilian Zouk social dance in Richmond, Virginia. They offer well-structured, quality instruction through weekly classes and workshops with a mission to inspire and unleash the dancer in everyone, as well as host social events to bring people together through the fun, technical, and cultural social dance with deep historical roots that is Brazilian Zouk.
