CARIOCA TRIO
The original trio, formed by drummer and rising star Yap Ting Wei in 2021, includes the outstanding Benjamin Poh on bass, and the multi-instrumental brilliance of Chok Kerong on piano and guitar.
On this lovely evening, they are joined by talented guest vocalist Siti Nur Iman.

The band came together through a shared passion for the music of Brazil. Each of the members is well established in the regional jazz scene, and all are among the most sought-after sidemen in Singapore.
Their individual expertise and ear for nuance is a key component to the band's dynamic mix. The direction and texture of the music is greatly influenced by both a deep understanding of the jazz tradition, and a fresh ear for new possibilities, which they bring to both the classic and modern music of Brazil.
They will be presenting music from artists like Djavan, Elis Regina, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto, and many more.
About Siti Nur Iman:
Siti Nur Iman is an up-and-coming jazz vocalist born and raised in Singapore. An alumnus of Esplanade’s Mosaic Jazz Fellows (2019), she performs regularly with her close-harmony vocal trio, The Sugar Bees. She has also performed with many of the city's jazz masters, and including a featured performance for the Lion City Youth Jazz Festival (2021), under the mentorship of Carmen Bradford.

To keep live music going and to support our artists and musicians, there is a minimum spend of $65++ per guest for all live music evenings at Maduro (includes a specially prepared bar snack of our pick + $50 credits to be used on Beverages only).
To prevent no-show and last minute cancellations, we will be implementing this $65++ through booking a ticket here on Eventbrite to confirm your seat(s)/table(s). Your $50 F&B credits will be used to offset your bill (for beverages only) at the end of the evening.
