$15 adv $20 day of showBraxton Hicks began when singer/songwriter, Mikey Carnevale (The Frights) had the silly idea of starting a side project that would allow him to write country songs without alienating The Frights fans more than they already claim to have been alienated. A doomed venture right out the gate… Nevertheless, the band developed quickly as Mikey gathered a group of relentlessly talented musicians who play in the likes of fellow San Diego bands Mrs. Magician and Hey Chels.
The roots of these songs can be easily traced to a deep love and curiosity for 1970s country songwriters (Gram Parsons, Waylon Jennings, Townes Van Zandt, etc). And so it was that Braxton Hicks was born and now hits the hard streets of San Diego as the rowdiest country band in town.
Their latest record "All Hat, No Cattle" was produced by Zac Carper of FIDLAR.
