JD Twitch (So Low/Optimo) is heading east for a one-off night of minimal wave/post punk/goth/industrial rhythms in The Wee Red Bar on 7th June from 11pm till 3am. Lothian native, Twitch, actually cut his teeth back in the late 80s playing similar records in his teens to an often bemused audience at the art college before going on to run the legendary Pure nights at The Venue, so it’s somewhat of an overdue reunion of around 30 plus years!As co-organsier of the semi-regular SO LOW club nights in Glasgow’s Poetry Club has been running since 2014, with countless mixes as well as a sensational double compilation of the same title on Vinyl Factory featuring the likes of Front 242, Tuxedomoon and Chris and Cosey, plus another compilation titled “Kreaturen Der Nacht” featuring some stunning German Post Punk of the late 70s and early 80s.
One support DJ tbc, we have a small number of cheaper early bird tickets which are on sale now – price will go up to £10 once they’re snapped up and then £12 on the night (with a discount for ECA students on the door) - so get booking early to save yourself a few quid. Anyone with even a passing interest in these genres won’t want to miss out on hearing these rarities spun by one of Scotland’s most eclectic DJs.
