Bravo The Bagchaser is the next Mexican rap star to break out of Los Angeles. He’s relentlessly racing to greatness, speeding down the lane legends like Cypress Hill and more recently, Shoreline Mafia, opened for Latino artists from L.A. to flourish in mainstream rap culture. For the past 3 years, Bravo has built a cult fan base by consistently releasing heartfelt music, street bangers with captivating visuals. Songs like “Bag Right”, “Bravo Flexin”, and “Trappin N Servin” have racked up over millions of views on YouTube. He’s opened up for acts such as Shoreline Mafia, Rucci, AzChike, Cypress Moreno, Mike Sherm, as well as headlined his own west-coast tour with Fenix Flexin’ of Shoreline Mafia in February 2020.
18 years ago, Bravo’s race began at Glendale Memorial Hospital in Glendale, CA. He spent his life between Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. His father lived in South Central L.A., until he was incarcerated when Bravo was 9 years old. Forced to grow up due to the extenuating circumstances he began to take matters into his own hands and eventually landed him in juvenile hall. At age 12 he went to juvenile hall for the first time, and entered a cycle where he would be in and out of incarceration for the next six years. It was behind bars at age 14, where he began banging on the cement walls of his cell making a beat for him to freestyle over to pass the time. With encouragement from fellow inmates, he began to work on his craft and continued to write songs. After serving his year long sentence in juvenile hall, he returned to more tragedy. Only two days after Bravo’s release, his brother was arrested and eventually would be sentenced to 15 years in Pr*son. This exact moment served as a wakeup call to Bravo and he decided to fully pursue rapping in an attempt to avoid the fate of his father and older brother.
Lil Maru
Diego Macias (Born June 19, 2004) also known as “Lil Maru” is a Mexican-American hip hop artist based in San Diego, CA. Tactically breaking into stardom, Maru has collaborated with many other artists on the rise. This includes Lil Weirdo, 22Gfay, Moneysign $uede, OMB Peezy, Fenix Flexin, Bino Rideaux and more. Lil Maru’s journey into the music world began at an early age. His musical influences included The Beatles, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Drake, and Future. He also recalls growing up with a strong admiration for the King of Pop– Michael Jackson. Being captivated and inspired by the infectious melodies Maru took on producing beats in middle school. That same year, Maru coined his stage name from a classmate who compared him to the infamous Naruto character “Shikamaru”. He then went on to study the creative process and found his staple sound. After snippets of his unreleased music generated a sizable buzz, Maru decided he’d turn the page and devote himself to his artistry. His success story begins in 2020 after several collaborative and independent tracks were highly-streamed and shared beyond his hometown. By the end of 2021, Maru officially went on to sign with the American record label Simple Stupid Records (an imprint of the label Geffen Records). He has placed in the top 8,000 artists in the country and has surpassed 45 million cumulative views across YouTube.
