At the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre
In this program, we'll compare two powerful themes: the importance of truth and the significance of sacrifice. We'll explore how these themes are depicted in two different stories: Punyakoti (an Indian tale) and Anne's story (native to PEI).
In Punyakoti, we'll see how the power of truth is central to the story. The main character, Punyakoti, faces a difficult choice where telling the truth becomes crucial. We'll analyze how Punyakoti's commitment to honesty impacts the outcome of the story and what lessons we can learn from it.
Similarly, in Anne's story, we'll discover instances where sacrifice plays a significant role. Anne, the protagonist, often finds herself in situations where she has to make sacrifices for the well-being of others or for her own growth. We'll examine these moments of sacrifice and reflect on their implications.
By comparing these two themes across different stories, we'll gain a deeper understanding of the universal values they represent and how they shape the characters' journeys. Through discussions and analysis, we'll uncover the lessons about truth and sacrifice that these stories offer, providing insights that resonate across cultures and time perio
