Fergus Smith of Abbeyville Veterinary Practice, will be the guest speaker at the upcoming Carrigaline IFA branch meeting on 🕹️Thursday, 11th September, at 8:00 PM,

Fergus will be speaking on the creation and implementation of herd health plans with special attention on current seasonal issues such as :
drying off cows
parasite control
pneumonia prevention
Fergus will also speak on future possible developments regarding herd health and welfare.
Well-known in the Carrigaline and surrounding areas, Fergus graduated from University College Dublin (UCD) in 1992 and joined Abbeyville in 1995. He further enhanced his expertise by completing a postgraduate certificate in Dairy Herd Health at UCD in 2014.
His professional interests encompass bovine and equine practice, with a focus on herd health, fertility, and ultrasonography.
Additionally, there will be an update regarding the progress of the nitrates derogation application.
