The session bolsters the City’s commitment to developing our local entrepreneurial community by providing small business owners the opportunity to hear stories of passion, drive, and resilience of local Brampton business owners. The session will also allow the community to come together and build meaningful bonds and relationships amongst other entrepreneurs in the room. ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Iman Grewal Healer, Wellness Expert, Mental Health Professional and devoted Ayurveda, Yoga and Meditation Practitioner
With two decades of experience, Iman is dedicated to promoting mental health, diversity, inclusivity, and equality, driven by her personal journey as a woman of colour. Iman works to amplify marginalized voices, focusing on destigmatizing mental health and substance use challenges.
A former professional dancer who performed globally, including at the World Economic Forum, Iman also made history as the first South Asian Film Programmer at TIFF, where she showcased underrepresented voices through film.
Iman integrates Ayurveda, Yoga, and Meditation (A-Y-M) on her wellness platform, YogaVeda. She offers workshops, coaching, and retreats, emphasizing holistic health, and also serves as an entrepreneurship coach at the Canadian Mental Health Association. Additionally, she facilitates programs for RISE, supporting those with mental health and addiction challenges.
Her community impact has earned awards such as a Reader’s Digest nomination as a "Mental Health Hero" and the Canadian Mental Health Association’s "We Are More" Award in 2022. Featured in the Region of Waterloo's "Stories of Strength and Survival" exhibit, Iman continues to inspire through her work and cultural contributions.
Iman Grewal is deeply honored to be nominated for the 2024 Women Empowerment Award in Diversity, Equality, and Inclusivity . She dedicates this recognition to her great-grandfather, Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji, whose life exemplified unwavering conviction and compassion. A renowned Sikh scholar, reformer, and freedom fighter, Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji dedicated himself to uplifting the marginalized and inspiring others to embrace diversity. His teachings have shaped the values that drive Iman's work today, motivating her to create inclusive environments where everyone is seen, heard, and valued.
