Brahms Violin ConcertoSchubert Symphony No. 4
Conductor: Simon Walton
Violin: Ruth Schulten
For our first concert of the 2025-2026 Season, Chiltern Camerata are venturing out to the lovely church of St Mary’s in Chesham to perform a beautiful programme of music by two of Germany’s greatest romantic composers.
You may recall violinist Ruth Schulten’s previous magnificent performances with the Chiltern Camerata in Beethoven’s violin concerto, and alongside Nicola Tait Baxter in the Brahms Double Concerto, and we are looking forward to an equally thrilling performance in the Brahms Violin Concerto in this October concert.
We are delighted to be performing in the splendid setting of St Mary’s, and the experience will be much enhanced by the church’s historic architecture, notable monuments and artwork, including a striking mural depicting a number of dramatic scenes from Christ’s passion painted in the 1960s by John Stanton Ward.
