This is the best time of the year (autumn) to start dancing with the morris, musicians are also welcome. We are working towards dancing out in our local communities and going to festivals from April next year. Morris fun and dance provides the best exercise for mind and body, membership is only payable when you have decided you are ready to make the commitment to join and a year's membership is £30 for 12 months. Bradninch Millers are inclusive, supportive and just want everyone to enjoy dancing.
Never heard of Bradninch Millers Morris?
Bradninch Millers Morris is an inclusive and community focussed dance side, side is a morris term for a group. Just like our member who originate from different parts of the country and some from other countries, we incorporate dances from the English morris traditions of the Cotswolds, the Welsh Borders, East Anglian Molly and miscellaneous other folk dances. However, we are the only dancers in Devon, who regularly dance Wessex Stave dances and one of a handful in the rest of England. Our staves are a reproduction of the Bradninch Tradesmen's Club stave, one of the town's 19th Century friendly societies, in their footsteps we have revised a Club Walk and reinforced the sense of fellowship which is a good attribute of most morris sides.
The venue is the Bradninch Youth Centre, West End Hall, West End Road, Bradninch, Devon. EX5 4QW
Practice start 7.30PM finish 9.30PM and potential social time afterwards. Practice season is September into April with some breaks around Christmas to New Year.
