Halifax's own Braden Lam headlines the Beautiful Neighbourhoods Tour across Canada this summer with a stop at Café L'Orbite in Montréal on Friday August 9th. Opening performance by americana-folk duo Basset. Blending authentic songwriting with modern indie flare, Braden Lam (he/him) is forging the path to a new 21st century folk. The young artist was recently nominated for Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Solo Recording of the year at the 2024 East Coast Music Awards and has been dubbed “Nova Scotia’s emerging songwriting sensation” by Grid City Magazine.

Toronto-based songwriters Yasmine Shelton and Sam Clark weave crisp harmonies and intricate guitar melodies into luminous and heartwarming performances. Their soulful and meditative début In the Clay was nominated for a 2023 Canadian Folk Music Award, earning nods from CBC, NPR and Americana radio, alongside comparisons to Gillian Welch and The Milk Carton Kids, and they have performed alongside Kaïa Kater, AHI, the Strumbellas, and more.
