Lowell photographer Annie Powell took more than 3,000 images in and around Lowell by the time of her death in 1952 at age 92, but much of her life remains a mystery. The by Annie Powell project is dedicated to preserving Annie’s photographic legacy, researching and authenticating her work, as well as contextualizing and promoting the historical significance of her images.Lowell historian Brad MacGowan explores the overlap between Powell & Kerouac's photographic/ literary visions of Bridge Street in Lowell in the 1920's and 1930's.
