Join us to hear about some upcoming Club events, and a program from Dr. Neal Sumerlin: Early Apollo MissionsMore than fifty years later, the American Apollo lunar program remains as the most spectacular achievement of human space flight. We'll track the program from JFK’s famous “We choose to go to the Moon . . ." to the splashdown of Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins in the Apollo 11 command module.
Dr. Sumerlin is the founding director of the Belk Observatory. His background is in nuclear chemistry, but he also has a passion for and taught many courses in astronomy. He has a blog called Star Struck, and gives lectures frequently in the area.
