Come on down to BRAC, as we jump into the autumn season for another semester of creative learning in a relaxed, supportive studio setting. Our 9-10-week art sessions are designed for all skill levels and led by experienced teaching artists. Whether you're diving into clay for the first time or rekindling a love for painting, we’ve got a class for you.
🎨 Young Artists: Introduction to Printmaking – Youth | 11:00 – 12:30 PM
STARTS OCTOBER 11 - Explore the exciting world of printmaking in this hands-on class! Students will learn techniques like monoprinting, relief printing, and more while creating unique, layered artworks. Perfect for young artists ready to experiment with texture, pattern, and creative expression.
🐦 Bugs, Birds & Beyond: Paper Mache Creatures – Family | 11:00 – 12:30 PM
STARTS OCTOBER 4 - Get ready to bring nature to life in this hands-on class! Students will learn the art of paper mache, transforming newspaper, tape, and cardboard into 3D birds and insects. We’ll shape forms, build up details, and finish with vibrant paints and creative embellishments to give each creature its own personality. Perfect for young artists ready to explore sculpture and imagination!
🏠 Re-Imagined City: Building with Found Objects – Teens/Adults | 1:00 – 3:00 PM
STARTS OCTOBER 4 - Calling all budding builders and creative recyclers! In this hands-on class, students will transform everyday objects like wood scraps, blocks, and found materials into imaginative 3D sculptures inspired by buildings and skyscrapers. Explore design, construction, and the artistic potential of recycled materials while bringing your unique creations to life!
🎨 Introduction to Printmaking and Linoleum – Youth | 1:00 – 3:00 PM
STARTS OCTOBER 11 - Dive into the world of printmaking with a focus on linoleum techniques! Students will learn how to design, carve, ink, and print their own creations, exploring composition, texture, and pattern. This hands-on class encourages experimentation and creative problem-solving, giving young artists the chance to produce multiple prints and develop a unique visual voice.
🖼️ Symbolism in Portraiture – Teens/Adults | 2:30 – 4:30 PM
STARTS OCTOBER 4 - This 10 week class, held on Saturdays, is for students who want to use timeless, invented, or religious symbols to add meaning to their paintings, drawings, and mixed media pieces. We'll explore common symbols and motifs used in art and study how selected artists have applied them throughout history.
