***PLEASE BE ADVISED THIS PLANTING HAS BEEN CANCELLED***it is with great sadness that we inform you that this scheduled planting has been cancelled due to a power supply failure at our GroCentre, which has unfortunately been to the detriment of our seedlings that were meant to be getting planted.
Bassendean Preservation Group invites you to participate in our next planting event at Point Reserve, where we will be planting rushes.
We have selected a date when the tide will be exceptionally low on a Sunday, and the river is expected to be fresh from the winter rains. This will allow us to plant rushes in the intertidal zone for the first time at Point Reserve.
We encourage local residents and enthusiasts of the area and park to visit and assist with the planting. If there has been recent rain, wearing gumboots is recommended.
Location:
Point Reserve, Bassendean; please follow the signs to the planting site, which is about 200 meters away.
Provided for you:
Tools for planting, an array of warm refreshments & nibbles and excellent company.
Please bring:
Gloves, a bottle of water, mosquito repellent, gumboots, and rain gear, particularly if it has been raining in the days leading up to the event.
