Jackson, Mississippi - Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.,Alpha Epsilon Lambda Chapter Educational Activities Committee in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Club - Capital Unit, is proud to present the Boys To Men Breakfast Empowerment Retreat, Gamma Edition. This highly anticipated retreat provides a unique opportunity for young males aged 8 to 18 to engage in interactive and educational workshops led by esteemed community leaders from diverse professions and academic disciplines.
The Boys To Men Breakfast Empowerment Retreat aims to equip participants with valuable resources for personal and professional growth. By encouraging young men to raise their expectations, fostering responsible and respectable characteristics, and promoting post-high school education, the retreat seeks to empower them to achieve their goals and make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
During this Gamma Edition, the organizing committee extends a special invitation to FATHERS and Male Mentors to join in and have breakfast with the young men from the City of Jackson and its surrounding areas. Recognizing that mental health issues can have a profound impact on individuals and those around them, the retreat will feature a dedicated segment on Men and Mental Health. This session aims to challenge traditional notions of masculinity and raise awareness about the importance of addressing mental health concerns.
The retreat will feature concurrent sessions led by accomplished presenters who will share their academic and professional experiences. Topics covered will include college and career readiness, drug and alcohol education, responsible character building, social justice, recreational activities, and more.
Participants can look forward to engaging and thought-provoking discussions that will broaden their horizons and inspire personal growth.
The Gamma Edition of the Boys To Men Breakfast Empowerment Retreat will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at The Boys and Girls Club - Capital Unit, located at 1450 W Capitol St, Jackson, MS 39203. The event will commence at 8:00 am and conclude at 1:30 pm.
