TRIP DETAILSFULLY GUIDED CAMINO EXCURSION
Join me for a fun and active day out in Ireland with like minded others. I have teamed up with Barbara Byrne who is an Irish and Spanish Camino Guide. She will take us from St Peters Church in Drogheda where we will begin the official Camino Route. We will ramble along the Boyne, through Townley Hall Woods to our half way maker: Mellifont Abbey. The return journey meanders through the village of Tullyallen, along the Boyne Canal and returns to Drogheda along the Boyneside Trail.
We will have official Camino Passports to get stamped along the way, plenty of photo opportunities and mini breaks. (Your Camino Passport €10 is included in the price this covers printing of passports and contribution to the Camino Society of Ireland a non profit organisation giving back to pilgrims.)
Optional group dinner (pub grub) in Drogheda at the end.
This daycation in Ireland is a great way to explore, learn about points of interest and meet new people.
Barbara is Fully insured professional guide with Mountain Skills1 and REC3 First aid trained
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This is a 25km walk that rambles through flat lands. While it is considered a relatively easy Camino you will need a reasonable level of fitness / endurance. Including breaks this route will take around 6-7 hours to complete. Please note there is mixed terrain, forest/woods/road and a boardwalk along the River Boyne on our return leg.
**Serious Hikers / highly experienced walkers may find the pace slow. This trip is about inclusivity and having a brilliant day out. It’s not a race.
