About this Event
Limestone Branch's roots run far deeper than you might expect. Founded by seventh-generation distiller, Stephen Beam, Limestone Branch Distillery carries centuries of distilling knowledge and is home to famous brands like Yellowstone Bourbon, which has withstood the test of time for over 150 years.
Our presenter will be Stephen Fante, Brand Ambassador at Limestone Branch. Stephen spends his days giving lively tours of the distillery and sharing the Beam family history. He also works as the barrel house manager, coordinating private barrel selections.
It's fitting that we'll be enjoying our tasting of Limestone Branch whiskey in an old Limestone mine, known as the Mega Cavern.
Our tasting will take place in a section of the mine that is directly beneath the Louisville Zoo. So yes, there will be elephants, gorillas, lions and other wild beasts roaming above us as we sip some fine Kentucky whiskey.
A little trivia about the Mega Cavern:
- The cavern was mined from the early 1930's to the early 1970's.
- In addition to the area below the Zoo, the cavern also goes under all 10 lanes of the Watterson Expressway (I-264).
- The temperature in the Mega Cavern is 58 degrees year round.
We'll have tasty food and awesome door prizes, as always.

The Bourbon Brotherhood is a monthly gathering of men who enjoy bourbon and camaraderie. You must be 21+ to attend this event. Please drink responsibly.
