Andy Moor Solo Guitar - “Intense Sound Signal Operates Without Warning”

Andy Moor s ‘live’ solo performance “Intense Sound Signal Operates Without Warning” is a relatively new project. It is accompanied by projections of photos taken by himself over the last 30 years. The photos are in black and white and have a strong visual connection to the sounds that Andy produces from his unusual guitar work. Pylons, overhead telephone and electric cables, cityscapes, and industrial landscapes that are mostly absent of any human presence . A half hour of intense improvisation using no pedals or effects working with found objects and the raw sound of the electric guitar, with a wide palate of sound ranging from crackling noise, dark textures , sonic drone-like soundscapes and hidden melodies and chords . A solo guitar performance with not one guitar solo in sight.

Andy Moor

Guitarist, composer, photographer and co-founder of the music label Unsounds Andy was born in London England 1962. He began his musical life in Edinburgh, Scotland playing guitar with the band Dog Faced Hermans, In 1990 he moved to the Netherlands after an invitation to join Dutch band The Ex which he is still a full time member of. He also played with Berlin based Klezmer Thrash quartet Kletka Red up until 1996. In more recent years Andy has collaborated with amongst others Yannis Kyriakides (Cypriot composer)), Anne James Chaton (French sound poet), Christine Abdelnour (Lebanese Paris based saxophonist). He has also worked composing soundtracks for films with Iranian filmmaker Bani Khoshnoudi. His latest projects include a quartet with Ken Vandermark, Terrie Ex and Paal Nilssen Love called Lean Left. The Heretics project with Anne James Chaton more recently with the departure of Thurston Moore has become a duo project which they began touring n 2017. In November 2019 Andy began a new project with Marion Coutts from Dog Faced Hermans .

Craig Scott

Craig Scott is a composer, improvising guitarist and sound artist. His work focuses on the tension that exists between human and machine made music. Working with human performers, robotics, custom built digital and analog hardware to explore the uncanny valley through sound. Blurring the perceptual lines between what is considered organic and artificial, function and malfunction and intention and error.

OLO

OLO aka Ed Griffiths, a sound artist, and activist, brings a sonic exploring into the dark and the mysterious depths of Ed's Head. OLO pieces are the result of internal worlds leaking, intended to work externally as explorations of non-linear narratives and dimensions. With his project XOLO, Ed also develops opportunities for sonic and visual artists at the forefront of creative exploration.
