The Boundaries Within Movement Workshop? Do you struggle to set Boundaries?
Self-exploration is the first step in understanding your own boundaries.
The Boundaries within Movement workshop is a discursive Contact Improvisation workshop that enables participants to explore concepts around boundaries. The workshop provides a supportive environment for you to be able to tune into your own authentic sense of being, whilst engaging in pathways to listen to your own emotional awareness. The workshop facilitates you the opportunity to learn about speaking up about situations when your boundaries might be crossed within the dance.
The workshop will focus on effective communication verbally and non-verbally. How to read body language through visual, sensation and touch. How to connect with your authentic feelings in response to self-judgement and the other to respond to keep you safe within the dance.
Who is this workshop for? The Boundaries Within Movement Workshop is for anyone who would like to engage within the philosophical discourse of boundary setting. The workshop has been built to create a safe environment for contact improvisation, so that those who are entering a dance can understand when their boundary shifts within the dance. The workshop is facilitated in a way to open up the discourse of boundaries to create a safe environment, to prevent unwanted situations in Contact Improvisation.

I am an Australian Dancer, Choreographer and Performing Artist. I use film as a medium to create visual installations that transport the physical body. I won an award for dance film, Shattered Perfection, a collaboration with Visual Effects Artist Michael Larue.
I have created dance performances for Adelaide and Melbourne Fringe, South Australia Living Arts Festival and Guitars and Bars outreach program. I have worked with aerial dance, in which I obtained my advance riggers licence in 2022.
A notable solo dance performance that I have developed is Kali, the Hindu Goddess, which I toured and performed in Australia (2010-2022) and at the Delhi International Arts Festival (2018).
I have taught Internationally and in Australia (mostly in Adelaide) Pilates, Yoga, Contemporary, Acro-Dance, my own Tai-Chi Ballet, and Contact Improvisation.
I have obtained lots of degrees that no longer exist... making me a rare commodity and rich in Hecs Debt.
Bachelor Fine Arts (Performance) From Queensland University Technology 2005-2007, a Bachelor Psychology Arts Flinders University - Honours in Sociology - 2017 and other Post Graduate certificates in Global Politics.
What is my artistic practice
My artistic statement for over the last 15 years has been how our social environment impacts on the nervous system. In
December 2019, I completed vipassana and this unlocked the darkness inside my body that had clouded my heart.
I established Contact Improvisation in Adelaide, 2014. Since, I have been exploring other Art Market avenues.
My Boundaries Within Movement Workshop shares my experiences in the vortex of dance. This is done via the self exploration of visceral experiences within the body, that ignites
the drive for change, and engagement on safety.
These concepts are shaped in the dance and into our societies constructs around Boundaries.
This workshop will be better then therapy!
Come be apart of community members experiences, stories and practice on setting Boundaries, by exploring and unpacking the dance.
I enjoy martial arts practices such as Muay Thai and Kalari, whilst exploring Street Skating, Handstands, Fire Eating and Contact Staff.
Come jump into the precipice of the psychological experience of Boundaries through the art of dance.
