About this Event
Personal boundaries are guidelines, rules or limits that a person creates to identify reasonable, safe and permissible ways for other people to behave towards them and how they will respond when someone passes those limits (Wikipedia). Boundaries allow us to separate who we are, and what we think and feel, from the thoughts and feelings of others. It is one of the most vital components to creating a healthy and fulfilling volunteer relationship.
This three hour workshop offers time to look at the importance of boundaries in working with and managing volunteers. We will discuss and learn when it is the proper time to set boundaries and how to find a balance in setting boundaries so they are not too weak or too strong. We will be looking at the following:
1. The importance of boundaries and what can happen if boundaries are not in place
2. What can happen if we don’t take care of ourselves
3. The boundaries we need and how to implement them
Instilling and establishing boundaries in your volunteer programme will not only enable you manage your volunteers effectively but will ensure that you also take care of yourself - so that both you and they have a positive experience of their involvement with your organisation.
The workshop will be very practical so that you will leave understanding that having boundaries and implementing them forms a firm foundation for self-care and managing your volunteers.
The workshop is free of charge for the time being – so why not avail of it now?
