This high-energy, contemporary new musical follows Reggie, a 10-year-old with endless energy who just can’t stay out of trouble at school. Through hilarious interactions with classmates like Low, who’s tired of the “smart kid” label, and Hoops, who is obsessed with lunch-Reggie learns that their energy can be a strength, not a weakness.

BOUNCE CHARACTERS
REGGIE: main character, desperately wants to stay out of trouble but can’t figure out how to do
that, sincere, lots of energy, finds his/her place at the end. Reggie is featured in Bounce and sings a lot with other characters in their special feature songs

Reggie, can I give you some advice? You need to find your happy spot. That place where you go to that’s peaceful and joyful. Think about it, what’s yours? A happy spot is important. When I visit mine, I stay out of trouble. It’s Cranberry Pond. I don’t actually go there, not that often. It’s a memory. I go there in my mind and I imagine just sitting there, peaceful and happy. Go on -try it.

People say I look smart because I wear them. They don’t know I can’t see a thing without them….I can’t pass my classes if I don’t wear my glasses!

KEV: Not yet.
REGGIE Whew. I can’t afford another tardy.
VIC: You know, Reg. You seem to get in trouble a lot.
REGGIE: Don’t talk to me about trouble. My parents said if I didn’t do better on my grades, I would have to go to... dun dun dun Summer School.
KEV: That would be the ultimate bummer.
VIC: A summer bummer, nothing worse.
MO: Unless you get sent to band camp. Then it’s a drummer summer.
REGGIE: Something tells me I’d like the drums. But, if I don’t improve my ways, I’m stuck in town for the summer.
MO: What you need is some focus in your life.
KEV: Like us. All we think about is soccer, 24-7.
MO: If you’re only thinking about soccer, it tends to keep you out of trouble.
JO: They aren’t wrong, Reggie. But, they’re focusing on the wrong sport.
JAY: Yeah, it’s baseball you should be focusing on.
JACK: We’ve been watching you. You’ve got potential.
REGGIE: I do?
KEV: Oh yeah, lots of it. For soccer.
JO: For baseball.
