Participants will take a closer look at the flowers we know and love through investigative, botanical studies. This class will focus on exploring the anatomy of flowers and other botanicals as well as dive into color studies using mixed media.ALL artistry levels welcome. Photograph & art by Vivian. Participants are welcome to bring their own beverages or snacks. Please wear comfortable shoes if you would like to walk about the farm and wearing bug spray is encouraged.

*Illinois is experiencing a cicada brood phenomenon this summer. Due to possible volume of these insects, there is potential for loud noise during events.
Classes are non-refundable and non-transferable. Class will be outdoors if weather allows. If weather is unfavorable it may be rescheduled.
Instructor Bio
This workshop is led by Vivian, a multi-medium artist and designer. Vivian Krishnan is a multimedia artist with works that cross the vast stage of storytelling, from designing costumes for theatrical characters to writing and illustrating diverse children’s books. Vivian’s focus is creating accessible work and centering stories of minoritized people. She approaches subjects regarding mixed-race identity, colonization of the Global South, sustainability in art and the environment, all while reclaiming ancestral craft through costumes, textiles, and printmaking.
