Join Mainspring and local artist Dayna Walton of Solstice Handmade for this introduction to the art of botanical drawing! Using two different styles of ink pens, together we will walk through the drawing process, from sketching to mark making techniques to creating rich values and textures. Students will leave this event with an understanding of the fundamentals of drawing in ink, plus the basics of watercolor painting to add color to your drawings. Class will include technique instruction and demonstrations while also offering open time to create.
This class is suitable for all levels, no creative experience required, just bring an open mind! Tickets are $40 and all materials will be provided. Students will take home paper, pens, watercolor brushes, and a watercolor sample kit to continue experimenting. Feel free to bring your own artmaking supplies to experiment and ask questions about!
This event will occur on Friday, May 16th from 7:00pm-9:00pm at Olive’s Porch in Murphy (27 Peachtree St, Murphy, NC 28906.) Please plan to arrive between 6:45pm-6:55pm to get settled. Email Skye at [email protected] with any questions.
