About this Event
Revisit John Wyndham's 1951 hit novel The Day of the Triffids in this lively Botanica Lumina event.
Hear some of Australia's most celebrated authors as they read excerpts from the post-apolocalyptic novel, and join their conversation about the impact of the book on the science fiction and dystopian genres.
Located outside, you will be surrounded by plants as you learn how the book influenced their own writing, and hear their reflections on writing about plants and the environment in contemporary literature.
Inspiration will abound as you absorb the beautiful botanical setting for this relaxed summertime event.
The Day of the Triffids was published in December 1951. At this 70th anniversary event you will hear from popular local writers and authors, including Sean Williams (author of the Twinmaker Series and Impossible Music).
