Boston To New York Bike Ride - Unsupported
Date: Aug 18th - 19th
Location: About 250 miles
An exciting journey from Boston to New York. This ride will be a thrilling adventure through scenic Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York.
This Ride is Completely Self-Supported
- No rest stops, no route support, no medical staff
- No route markings — self-guided and self-paced
- No gear trucks, no overnight accommodations
- No meals, no snacks, no gatos, no water... just ride!
Basic Route
- Ride out of Boston on Sunday eveing and overnight in Framingham, Mass
- Day 1 - Ride out at 5am from Framingham. Cross the Connecticut River on the Chester/Hadlyme Ferry, and finish in Old Saybrook, Conn.
- Day 2 - Ride out at 6am from Old Saybrook. Cross the Hudson on the Gov. Mario Cuomo Bridge, and finish in Nyack, NY.
Why
The comradre of a group ride is awesome and the Boston to NY Route is epic! With a bike mounted GPS, some lightwieght gear, and the need to push things to the next level - I want to see what I can do! Do you?
Logistics
From farm stands and coffee shops to gas station bodegas, there are plently of "rest stops" along the way. Stay hydrated, get your salt and electrolytes, eat!
Ride at your own pace. Have your phone for emergencies. Stay alert, be prepared, adapt to your conditions. Keep your ID, cash and credit card on you.
I'm staying at the Monticello Inn Framingham in Framingham and the Super 8 by Windham in Old Saybrook. You can book there, stay somewhere else, grab a tent, whatever... we're on our own!
