About this Event
The Boston Philharmonic presents an all British program. First, Purcell's Chacony in G Minor, as realized by Benjamin Britten. Then, British cellist Alexander Baillie, performs the Elgar Cello Concerto. Concluding the program is Holst's The Planets, one of the most thrilling orchestral extravaganzas ever composed. It is a work that MUST be experienced live in the renowned acoustics of Symphony Hall. No recording has ever truly captured its sonic variety and magnificence. The orchestra is joined by The Radcliffe Choral Society.
