The Borrowdale 10 is a 10 mountain challenge that will test you to your limits but also give you an amazing day in the mountains.
Starting in Seathwaite we head up the first climb of the day to Glaramara (783m) from there it’s a relaxed walk across the top to Allen Crags (785m) where we have great views of Great Gable and Scafell Pike. From Allen Crags we had down then up a small climb to Great End (910m). From Great End we now head to England’s Highest Mountain Scafell Pike (978m) via Ill Crag (935m) and Broad Crag (930m) After lots of photos and a bite to eat we now have a trek across to Lingmell (800m).
We will now be ¾ way through our Journey and will now head to the iconic Mountain Great Gable (899m), a steep climb that will test those legs but the rewards are totally worth it. We will now be on the home run and all the hard work has been done. From Great Gable we head to Green Gable (801m) then the smallest one of the day Base Brown (646m) . Now we can celebrate after completing our challenge and an amazing day out. It’s time to head down where we can have a celebration drink in the local hostelry.
Looking forward to helping you on what is one of the best circular routes in England.
