What is Borrow My Vessel?

Borrow My Vessel (BMV) is a Pastor-to-Pastor (P2P) collaborative community and coaching platform where every Pastor can borrow vessels (insights, knowledge, exposure and experience) and make their vessels available to other Pastors in the community.

In 2 Kings chapter 4. There’s the story of the wife of one of the prophets who cried out to Elisha because her dead husband’s creditors wanted to take her two sons as slaves. She didn’t have anything but a jar of oil.

2 Kings 4:3-6

“Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”

So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”

And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.”

The Pastors Challenge

Pastors are having a tough time. This is not new, because pastoring a church has always been challenging and it takes God’s grace and anointing to pastor effectively.

Their commitment and sacrifice for the call of God is unquestionable but many Pastors are hurting!

They are isolated and lonely, wounded from past hurts, being crushed under the weight of expectation, and forced to mask their struggles. Unlike the congregation, there is no support system exclusively created for Pastors with like-minds to come together, share ideas, sharpen each other and get rejuvenated.

Introducing Borrow My Vessel Pastors Community

Borrowing vessels without shame is the key to a continuous flow of oil and the only safe place to borrow vessels as a Pastor is the Borrow My Vessel Pastor’s Community.

From 2 Kings 4, it is important to learn how to borrow vessels. Many people associate borrowing with money, but it is much more than money. There are opportunities to borrow other’s insight, knowledge, skills, strengths, exposure and experience.

The more vessels you can borrow, the more your anointing flows, but until now, there has been no safe space for Pastors to be vulnerable, seek and receive assistance, mentoring, coaching and be collaborative.
