About this Event
The brain is the control centre for the human body. It’s responsible for not only our memories, thoughts and emotions but also regulates our motor skills, breathing and temperature.
At the next event in our free Boroondara Wellbeing Conversation series, learn about lifestyle changes you can make to support a healthy ageing brain. Improving our diet and staying physically active are both widely recognised as actions we can take to help lower the risk of dementia as we age.
Join us at this event to hear cognitive neuroscientist Professor Andrew Pipingas talk about a range of healthy brain ageing topics, including:
· the connection between diet, nutrition and physical activity and the brain
· recent studies that have demonstrated the positive effect of lifestyle changes on ageing brains
· slowing age-related cognitive decline and reducing dementia risk.
This wellbeing conversation is not a substitute for individualised clinical care. The discussion is general in nature, offering tips and advice for a healthy lifestyle.
About Andrew:
Professor Andrew Pipingas is the Head of Neurocognitive Ageing Research at Swinburne University of Technology’s Centre for Mental Health and Brain Sciences.
His research brings together cognitive neuroscience, brain sciences, and psychopharmacology to explore healthy brain ageing. A central focus of his work is conducting human clinical trials that promote healthy brain ageing and help prevent dementia.
