A vitaestet nem-bolsevik kommunisták és osztályharcos anarchisták szervezik. A rendezvény célja, hogy teret biztosítson az álláspontok ütköztetésére, tisztázására, hogy kapcsolódási pontként szolgáljon az osztályharcos alapon gondolkodó antikapitalisták számára, előmozdítva mindezzel a mozgalmi szerveződést.
Néhány héttel ezelőtt kijött a nyomdából a “Perifériás birodalom” c. könyv, Borisz Kagarlickij oroszországi szociológus monográfiája Oroszország történetéről. A vitaest során ezt a kötetet fogjuk bemutatni.
A könyvet a szerző konzekvensen materialista történelemszemlélete és vizsgálati módszere teszi egyedivé. Az eredmény így nem egy Marx-idézetekkel kidekorált, de lényegében a polgári történetírás módszerét követő mű lesz, mint oly sok állítólagos “marxista” írás esetén. Ehelyett itt egy olyan elemzést kapunk, amely a nemzetközi gazdaságtörténetnek és a tőkés világrendszer fejlődésének keretében elemzi Oroszország történetét. A könyv segít megérteni nemcsak egy adott ország történelmi fejlődésének fordulatait, hanem a globális kapitalizmus strukturális jellemzőinek kialakulását és változásait is. A szerző a múltról szól, de a jelenhez beszél, a múltat a jelen megváltoztatásának céljával vizsgálja.
A könyv adományért a vitaesten is beszerezhető lesz. Az adományokat a szerző számára fogjuk eljuttatni, aki évek óta börtönben ül Oroszországban.

Boris Kagarlitsky: Empire of the Periphery - book launch

The debate evening is organized by non-bolshevik communists and class struggle anarchists. The purpose of the event is to provide a space for clashing and clarifying positions, to serve as a point of contact for class-struggle-based anti-capitalists, and to promote the organisation of the movement.
A few weeks ago, the book Empire of the Periphery, a monograph on Russian history by Russian sociologist Boris Kagarlitsky, was published. We will present this volume during the discussion.
The book is unique in its consistently materialist view of history and its method of analysis. The result is not a work decorated with Marx quotations but essentially following the methods of bourgeois historiography, as is the case with so many supposedly "Marxist" writings. Instead, we are presented with an analysis that examines Russian history in the context of international economic history and the development of the capitalist world system. The book helps us understand not only the turning points in the historical development of a particular country, but also the formation and changes in the structural characteristics of global capitalism. The author talks about the past, but speaks to the present, examining the past with the aim of changing the present.
The book will be available for donation at the discussion evening. Donations will be forwarded to the author, who has been imprisoned in Russia for years.
