Join us for the very first Burden of Proof book club—a casual, welcoming space to sip, snack, and talk books!
For our inaugural pick, we’ll be reading and discussing by Rebecca Skloot—a fascinating blend of science, history, and personal narrative. Winner of multiple awards, this compelling nonfiction work tells the story of Henrietta Lacks, the woman behind the revolutionary HeLa cells, and explores the intersection of ethics, race, and medical discovery.
Start reading now! The LA and South Pasadena libraries are well stocked with copies, as is the Libby app. Even if you haven't quite finished the book by our meeting, we'd still love to see you there.
