Join us for an evening of laughter and libations with Boozy & The Beast. This unique event combines the sophistication of wine tasting with the hilarity of live comedy. Libby Brodie and Robin Boot will guide you through tasting 5 wines from our soon to be launched new wine list, whilst adding a light-hearted and comical theme to the tasting. After a brief interval, to allow you to order your favourite wine by the bottle, get ready for a rock themed comedy set!
Who is Boozy?
Recently named on the Top 100 Most Influential People In Drink list by Drinks Retailing, Libby Brodie was an award winning theatre producer, now wine consultant. She is the founder of Bacchus & Brodie Wine Consultancy and City AM’s dedicated wine columnist, with her regular “Wine Without The Snobbery” page. Published in Condé Nast Traveller, The Independent, The Buyer, the i Paper, Cosmopolitan, Club Oenologique and the Daily Mail, Libby has presented online, on radio, podcasts and TV, including teaching England Rugby Legend Joe Marler how to taste wine and recommending wines on morning TV.
A qualified wine consultant and self-proclaimed “wine translator” who is passionate about accessible, entertaining wine communication, Libby’s career has included crafting and presenting a wine tourism course for Bright Trip, creating irreverent mini-series ‘Boozy & The Beast: How To Drink Better’ and filming series such as 'Roaming The Rhone' with Joe Wadsack and Andrew Sheridan. Libby regularly moderates and hosts panels and events, is an international wine judge for the IWSC, works with private clients to source and curate their wines and guest lectures at Universities on Wine Communication.
Who is the Beast?
Once upon a time, rock'n'roll had a drunken one-night-stand with stand-up comedy and a ******* lovechild was born... its name was rockomedy. Robin Boot adopted the Beast and shaped it into what it is today. Robin has taken his unique brand of musical comedy all over the world, including 8 years performing at the Edinburgh Fringe. Expect clever word-play, darkly surreal lyrics and guitar-wielding silliness. This is musical comedy turned up to eleven!
