About this Event
Presented by Gender+ Justice Initiative, Black Women Radicals, Women’s and Gender Studies and Dept. of African American Studies
Join us in welcoming Rokhaya Diallo for a screening and discussion about one of her latest documentaries: Bootyful. From France to the United States via Brazil, Bootyful reveals the history and body politics behind the global craze for a certain type of “derriere”. The film also interrogates if these new norms can be liberating, or, on the contrary, further sexism and patriarchal pressures.
Program: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
- Screening (45min)
- Conversation and Q/A with Rokhaya Diallo (45min)
