THE CYNZ are a full-throttle rock band formed around the songwriting talents of poet CYNDI DAWSON (voc) and HENRY SEIZ (gtr/voc). The band has been called "the closest thing to the 1970's CBGB's you will get from a band that formed in 2011." Their songs are hard-rocking tales of heartbreak, survival, determination, redemption, and sometimes unbridled joy at break-neck speed!!!· CYNDI DAWSON is a visual on-stage tsunami, period. She leads the band through shamanic rock & roll rites of passage. Her raw, emotional stage presence along with the band’s edgy, powerful vibe is truly an experience. THE CYNZ' influences derive from the late '70s Lower East Side NYC chainsaw music of the RAMONES and the tough, gritty vibe of The MC5, ALICE COOPER and MITCH RYDER & THE DETROIT WHEELS.
· THE CYNZ have opened for legendary acts such as the reformed BLUES MAGOOS, THE SPLIT SQUAD, MARTHA DAVIS & THE MOTELS, IVAN JULIAN, SONNY VINCENT, THE VIBRATORS, BILLY RATH'S STREET PIRATES, WARRIOR SOUL, WALTER LURE & THE WALDOS, Ian Lloyd, and THE ZERO’S. THE CYNZ have a new Vinyl LP entitled ‘Lil’ Devil’ and 2 CD’s to their credit. The 1st CD entitled “ORIGINAL CYNZ” and the 2nd “FIVE MORTAL CYNZ” (CDBaby, Amazon, iTunes) are guitar-driven, in-your-face dance fests. Their 2nd CD contains a rocking track co-written with GARY HEFFERN, lead vocalist of the legendary San Diego-based band, THE PENETRATORS entitled “BLAME IT ON THE KISS.” More recently, THE CYNZ have released their third album on Vinyl called ‘Lil’ Devil’ on FishPuppy records, completed a tour of SWEDEN, and have released several singles produced by PEPPY CASTRO of THE BLUES MAGOOS .
· The Cynz have been honored with top ten songs across multiple charts from NYC to Los Angeles, Australia, UK and Japan and been enjoying increasing radio play over the years from college to satellite to Internet across the globe.
Hummingbird Syndicate - Jon Macey and Lynn Shipley met in a nightclub in 2007, bonded over their shared love of pure pop, traditional country, and stellar songcraft. They began writing songs together and Hummingbird Syndicate was the ultimate expression of that partnership.
With rising harmonies, ringing guitars, and a focus on lyrics and melody, Hummingbird Syndicate marries the 60s folk rock of The Mamas and the Papas and The Byrds with the 70s pop rock of Fleetwood Mac and the Heartbreakers to create a modern, original, engaging sound all their own. Tightly-wrought arrangements delivered by six versatile musicians unfold lyrical content that ranges from romance to psychedelia to the universe in a teacup.
Their recent release, Poptimystic, joins three other full-length albums and a 45 rpm single.
Hummingbird Syndicate are: Lynn Shipley (songwriter, lead and harmony vocals); Jon Macey (songwriter, guitars, lead and harmony vocals); Steve Gilligan (bass, harmony vocals); Paul Zablotsky (keyboards); Lenny Shea (drums), Peter Arsenault (guitar)
Dave Charles Band - Longtime fans of the Boston rock scene may remember seeing “The Next” spray-painted on walls and bridges from Kenmore Square to Allston, and hearing Sidewalk Gallery on Boston airwaves in the 80’s and 90’s. Both bands featured the distinct harmonies of twin brothers Dave and Brian Charles, who still live and make music here. Dave has branched out from his early days as a lead guitarist and ace bassist to exploring pedal steel, blues and country slide guitar, and experimenting with alternate tunings while crafting new songs that blend his best pop instincts with growling guitar-driven melodies. Fronting his own band for the first time as a solo artist sans Brian, Dave’s new music echoes the excitement of early Elvis Costello, the sonic impact of Sugar or Dinosaur Jr., and the melodic kick of The Smithereens.
