About this Event
No experience or partners are needed for you to enjoy a wonderful evening of community dancing at Tucson Village Farm's 'Big Farm' on Friday, November 22nd. Contra dance is a type of social dance akin to square dancing but with pairs of dancers forming sets of long lines down the length of the dance hall. Kind of like if square dancing and swing dancing had a baby! We will have a live band, Rave Review, featuring fiddle, accordion, and guitar. Our caller is Claire Zucker – yes she is the Pima Extension Director, but she is also a contra caller and she will teach the dancers and then prompt them when the music starts up. Yummy TVF snacks will be for sale at the event. Come by yourself or bring a friend! 6:30 - 7:00 introductory teach session.
Tickets are $10 pre-sale and $15 at the door.
