Love Where You Live & Fuel Your Passion for Success
Every town is unique; every town is interesting; and every town can be a success - but only if YOU truly believe those first two things. It takes a mind shift. Heidi Kerr Schlaefer will talk about how you can make your town extraordinary and guide you through the process of a mindset shift that leads to success - not only for the community, but for the business operator. There is a correlation between a person's attachment to a place and its economic growth. Over a three-year study, called "Soul of the community" those places found to have the highest levels of community attachment had the highest rate of GDP growth. Attendees will:
- Uncover how to stand out in a crowded market and discover how to promote authenticity and character to new customers and visitors
- Leverage place branding and community events for growth
- Find out how to turn town advocacy into vibrancy for their business
- And more!
Led by Heidi Kerr-Schlaefer, a seasoned destination blogger, writer, consultant, and national speaker, this presentation is one every business owner in Fort Morgan and surrounding areas should attend!
This Boost Your Business presentation is the fourth in a four-part series designed for the business owner or merchant who wants to differentiate himself/herself from the competition, increase sales, engage new markets, and magnify business operations. What Others Have Said
"Heidi is truly in-the-know with all things local Colorado. She brings a level of excitement and energy to her presentations that is very refreshing. It's like she's been giving presentations her whole career." - Nate Shull, AICP, Economic Development Specialist for the City of Fountain
"Heidi was a closing plenary speaker at our 2024 IN THE GAME Vibrant Downtowns coference and did a terrific job! She was engaging with the audience, solicited enthusiastic examples of local community character, and left an impression with our attendees that fueled a passion for downtown communities around the state." - Bill Shrum, Director of Operations Downtown Colorado, Inc.
"Heidi brings a 'glass-full' message to communities, not just a 'glass half-full'. She prompts residents and business leaders to look at their hometowns through the lens of the newcomer and visitor - what makes your place different from any other place? Then go build it better. That's the HeidiTown way." - John Shepard, AICP, Community & Economic Development, David City, Nebraska
"I had the pleasure of attending Heidi's session Nebraska Planning Conference this past spring. As someone who has spent time in both urban and rural settings, I found her insights into the unique challenges and opportunities faced by small towns to be both relatable and inspiring. Heidi shared captivating stories from her travels and work in various small communities. Her presentation was not only informative, but also thought-provoking. Heidi engaged her audience well, leaving everyone motivated to take action in their own communities. If you ever have the opportunity to hear Heidi speak, I highly recommend it." - Christopher Solberg, AICP, Deputy Community Development Director, City of La Vista, Nebraska & Past President, Nebraska Planning and Zoning Association.
