"Seasoned Citizens" are you ready for fall? Crisp air, colorful foliage, craft festivals, parades, and pumpkin made into everything but meat loaf. One thing is certain, none of us were drinking pumpkin lattes when we were young. They were not even on the menu until 2001. Thank you, Peter Dukes and the Starbuck's espresso beverage team for the yummy treat. This month is extremely busy for many seniors, businesses, and organizations, so we are making an appropriate adjustment. There will be no "fun and games" meet-up on October 2nd. We promise to have twice as much fun in November. There will, however, be a wonderful program for our "You Can Teach Old Dogs New Tricks" meeting on October 16th. ESCC resident GURU and Administrative Director, Dr. Anna Smedley, will be enlightening us about the importance of "Community Activism". Anna is an outstanding speaker, and her shared expertise is guaranteed to get you thinking. Over the past several months, our presenters and their unique programs have been extraordinary. Attendees have had nothing but praise and we are looking to expand this component of Boomers and Beyond. We encourage all of you to check the ESCC website or the newsletter for information about coming events.
In the meantime, you may be retired but you are not expired. Get up and rake some of those leaves or hire somebody to do it for you or just let them cover your yard while you have a delicious pumpkin latte. Life is Good.
