BOOMBOX is back [SAT.2/7] with our 19th Annual #DoinIt4Dilla!! That's right, our favorite night of the year returns with a full evening of J DILLA/JAY DEE goodness! Classics, productions, remixes, features, samples, rarities, & much more on both floors ALL NIGHT! For this year's edition we're hyped to welcome the Boombox debut of production icon and Dilla collaborator, NOTTZ [Virginia] + 2/4's of the Fantastik 4our, MR. CHOC [Beat Junkies] + C-MINUS!!

A hip hop mainstay for damn near 30 years, multi-platinum Grammy award winner NOTTZ's unique blend of gritty drums, innovative chops, and crushing basslines have provided sonic backdrops for artists like Busta Rhymes, The Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg, Pusha T, Rakim, 50 Cent, De La Soul, The Game, Little Brother, Xzibit, Sean Price, Diamond D, Ras Kass, Rapsody, Blu, and of course, the late, great J Dilla! He's also one of a very small list of cats who have both produced for AND rapped on songs with Dilla...check standout joints "The Shining Pt. 1 (Diamonds)" and "Fight Club", both featured on Dilla's "The Diary" LP. One of our absolute favorites behind the boards, we couldn't be more hyped to welcome Nottz to our stage for the first time with a special tribute set in honor of his brother in beats!

If that wasn't enough, you know we had to bring back our Almighty Ruffnex fam MR. CHOC + C-MINUS for another round of top-tier Dilla madness! They both knew him well from their time on Friday Night Flavas on Power 106 where they hosted him multiple times. Tow of the cleanest, most well-versed DJs in the biz, their set from our 2015 #DoinIt4Dilla still ranks as one of our favorite Boombox sets of all time! It's only right we have them back to help us celebrate their brother and this special occasion.

Since September 2nd, 2006, Boombox has provided a home for Los Angeles hip hop lovers to gather every first Saturday of the month and celebrate the genre’s most respected DJs and producers. Celebrating their 15-year anniversary in 2021, they’ve gained a faithful following of music aficionados who all share one common trait: the love of hip hop culture.

Residents Inka One, Ben Diggin, and Mantron have created a signature sound and energy that is authentic, inclusive, and fiercely committed to promoting the culture and artistry of hip hop. For the past 18 years, Boombox has given Los Angeles a home for hip hop connoisseurs who understand the importance of the DJ.
