Our free PoetryMic series introduces you to a varied group of talented poets that live in and around Sarasota. Plus, you never know what visiting, well-known poets may drop by the loft! Join us this month as we hear John Foster and Michael Riley share their work.
About the poets:
Michael Riley has lived in Bradenton, FL for three years. Born and raised in Burlington, CT, he developed a love of stories at a young age; especially those pertaining to the fantastical. J.R.R. Tolkien's THE HOBBIT kicked off what would be an unquenchable thirst for getting lost within worlds of the grand and the seemingly impossible. Since he became interested in poetry, authors like Lewis Carroll, Edward Lear, Robert Frost, and many more have been constant sources of inspiration for him to push himself and have fun while doing so.
