About this Event

Janet Scarfe is a professional historian whose research interests include family history and biography, Australian army nurses in World War One and Two, and controversies around the ordination of women in the Anglican Church in Australia. Suzanne (Sue) Scarfe is a genealogist with a keen interest in family history.

They are the great granddaughters of Hugh and Margaret Campbell, the first of three generations to live and work on Anlaby. Sue began the project with her genealogical research and Janet added her historical skills. The result is a new book The Campbells of Anlaby, 1860-1940 (published this year) a social history of three generations of Campbells and the communities in which they lived and worked.

A Friends of the State Library of South Australia event.
