About this Event
The idea of ‘Books in Bars’ is simple. Come along from 12pm with some books you’re happy to part with and enjoy an alcoholic drink or a coffee inside Arts Bar HOPE STREET (the last one was at the Baltic venue, so don't get mixed up) as the donations are organised.
Once everything is organised, you’re free to browse and hopefully find a few new books to take home and adorn the space on your shelves now free from your donations.
As it approaches the festive season, November's swap will act as the final of the year and be a little Christmas party! Expect live music, a raffle and a quiz on the day, if enough people sign up to take part! Every single penny raised - including donations processed through EventBrite - will go directly to Palestinian aid charities.
All books are welcome but please be considerate. If you only bring a couple of titles with you, only take a few at first while others have a chance to browse - don't nab all the good ones and only leave your old GCSE French dictionary. These events only work if everyone plays fair and brings books that someone might actually want to read or find useful.
