In this book, Huat Lim presents his typological understanding in a series of interconnected essays that reflect on type as a fundamental tool to frame and articulate collective architectural knowledge and how buildings evolve a direct or indirect extension of ourselves.

Huat Lim is an architect based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and co-founder of ZLGDesign. His other books include Automatism in Philosophy, Art and Culture (2022) and Ethos: Biographical Essays, 2015–2023 (2023), published by Suburbia Projects.
