The Women’s Fellowship Group’s next “Books and Breakfast” gathering will be on Saturday, March 1st at 9:30 am. We are reading "Remarkably Bright Creatures," a novel by Shelby Van Pelt. After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her son mysteriously vanished over 30 years ago. Tova forms a remarkable friendship with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine. Ever the detective, Marcellus deduces what happened the night Tova’s son disappeared. And now Marcellus must use every trick his old invertebrate body can muster to unearth the truth for her before it’s too late.
This charming novel is a gentle reminder that sometimes taking a hard look at the past can help uncover a future that once felt impossible.
The book can be borrowed from your local library or bought through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or other locations where books are sold. You should get and read the book on your own, and then we'll discuss it over breakfast. A light breakfast will be provided, but please bring your own beverage. We will meet at the church in the Conference Room.
