About the book:
Disruption fatigue is real. After years of constant change and uncertainty, employees report feeling overwhelmed and disengaged at work. This is a crisis for team leaders because people can not do the best work of their lives if they are languishing.
Enter The Alchemy of Talent—a culmination of extensive research in behavioral science and organizational psychology distilled into a comprehensive guide for nurturing teams that surpass expectations. Within these pages lies the blueprint to harness the productive friction found on complex teams, while capitalizing on special “talent catalysts” that turn this friction into peak performance.
This book equips leaders with the tools to cultivate resilience, foster innovation, and achieve enduring success. But knowing is only half the battle; it’s in the actionable skills for team leaders offered within each chapter that true transformation takes root.
Consider this book your trusted companion, a beacon to guide you toward unlocking your team’s greatest achievements. With The Alchemy of Talent by your side, you’ll lead your team to win consistently.
About the author:
Dr. Vijay Pendakur is principal and founder of Vijay Pendakur Consulting. A true multi-sector organizational leader, Pendakur has held senior roles at four companies: Salesforce, Dropbox, VMware, and Zynga. He has also served as the Robert W. and Elizabeth C. Staley Dean of Students at Cornell University. In his time at the largest Ivy League institution, he was named Presidential Advisor for Diversity and Equity as part of a new approach to campus-wide transformation.
His 2016 book Closing the Opportunity Gap represents one of the few book-length works on how to graduate underserved college students and is still used by campus leaders today to inform strategy. Pendakur has served as an advisor to the Chief Diversity Officer of the National Institutes of Health, and he serves on the institute teaching faculty of the Race and Equity Center at the University of Southern California. Pendakur is a board advisor for Ezra Coaching and Enterprise Ireland.
When he’s not working, he’s strumming guitars, sampling single malts, and enjoying the creeks and trails around Austin with his wife and daughters.
