About the book:
In this informative alphabet book, little Longhorns of all ages will learn about the traditions, legends, and amazing moments that make up Texas Football while learning to love reading. The Longhorn Alphabet functions on one level as an alphabet book for younger children, but the captivating writing and entertaining illustrations also allow older readers to dive deep into the rich history of the University of Texas’ football team. This book lays the groundwork for creating the next generation of passionate fans and helps families build lasting memories around sports together.
About the author:
RT Young is a writer and father from Austin, Texas, and a proud graduate of the University of Texas. He writes for Inside Texas and is the author of the popular sports newsletter Dance With Who Brung Ya. Some of his fondest memories center around cheering on the Longhorns with his family, friends, and children. This is his first book, and to bring it to life, he partnered with accomplished illustrator Andreea Chele.
About the moderator:
Derrick Johnson is a father, husband and college football Hall of Famer, as well as being the Kansas City Chiefs all time leading tackler. He's one of the greatest Longhorns of all time, but also the proud chairman of the Defend The Dream Foundation, which does library makeovers in title one elementary schools. A son of a lifelong educator, DJ is a champion for children's literacy.
By purchasing a book from BookPeople, you are not only supporting a local, independent business – you’re showing publishers that they should continue sending authors to BookPeople.
