About this Event

Join Bookmarks in welcoming Raina Telgemeier to Winston-Salem for her newest graphic novel, Facing Feelings: Inside the World of Raina Telgemeier. The #1 New York Times bestselling author of Smile, Sisters, and Guts will share her artwork and inspiration behind her stories. Cece Bell, author of El Deafo will join Raina in conversation.

Facing Feelings is recommended for ages 8 + and Grades 3 +, but all Raina fans and aspiring artists are invited to join us!

Ticket options:

  • Ticket for One - $28 (plus taxes & fees) includes admission for one + one copy of Facing Feelings
  • Ticket for Two - $32 (plus taxes & fees) includes admission for two + one copy of Facing Feelings

Copies of Facing Feelings will come with a signed book plate. After the program, attendees can get a photo with Raina Telgemeier. Cece Bell will sign books and take photos with attendees after the talk.



About the Author

Raina Telgemeier is the #1 New York Times bestselling, multiple Eisner Award–winning creator of Smile, Sisters, and Guts, which are all graphic memoirs based on her childhood. She is also the creator of Drama and Ghosts, the adapter and illustrator of the first four Baby-sitters Club graphic novels, and, with Scott McCloud, the co-creator of The Cartoonists Club. Facing Feelings: Inside the World of Raina Telgemeier is based on an exhibition that was held at The Ohio State University’s Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum. About the Conversation Partner

Cece Bell is the author-illustrator of the Geisel Honor Books Chick and Brain: Smell My Foot! and Rabbit and Robot: The Sleepover, as well as the Newbery Honor Book El Deafo. She is also the creator of the Sock Monkey picture books and Chuck and Woodchuck. Cece Bell learned to read with Dick and Jane, and now she hopes children will learn to read with Chick and Brain. She lives in Virginia with her family.
