About this Event
For Ages 16+ Learn the basics of bookbinding from simple folded structures to hardbound and sewn books. We will explore different book structures each class and even create original artist books by adding one of a kind content to our projects such as decorative paper techniques, collage, and printmaking. Students will leave this class with a diverse portfolio of traditional and experimental handmade books and the confidence and skillset to continue their book arts practice beyond our class. Be inspired by the rich history of book arts, espeically in Los Angeles, and learn about the history of art books and our direct connection to the Woman's building. Recommended supply lists will be reviewed and distributed in the first class meeting.
