The Snail on the Wall bookstore is delighted to welcome Alabama native Angela Jackson-Brown to talk about her new novel, Untethered, set in Troy, Alabama in the 1960s.
The event will be at The Snail on the Wall bookstore. The event is free, but reservations are encouraged. Books will be available for purchase.
About Untethered:
Set in 1967 in Troy, Alabama, Untethered follows Katia Daniels, who works at the Pike County Group Home for Negro Boys. As she navigates the challenges of her responsibilities and her personal life, she must confront her family’s history—including a twin brother missing in Vietnam—and figure out how to make choices that reflect her own desires, not just the needs of others. The novel delves into themes of love, family, and self-discovery during a time of social transformation in the South.
About Angela Jackson-Brown:
Angela Jackson-Brown was born and raised in Ariton, Alabama and is a graduate of Troy University and Auburn University. She is an award-winning writer, poet, and playwright who is an Associate Professor in the creative writing program at Indiana University in Bloomington.
