Join us for an event that has been years in the making with local author, veteran basketball coach, motivational speaker, podcaster, and certified life coach David Ford. A proud native of Panama City, Florida, he has spent 23 years as a sports journalist and public relations executive in and around the NFL, NHL, and NCAA. Spanning the Panhandle of the Sunshine State, David has also served seven years in the public education system as a middle school teacher and high school athletics coach.
The Journey to Bookish Boutique
In the span of 11 months, David published his first three books as the lead writer and editor including: "Show Up For YOU: Daily Motivation for the Grind Called Life," "Anthills in the Outfield: A Big Dreamer in a Small Town," and "What's Next?" First published at 19 in consecutive poetry books, including "Best Poems of the '90s," David went on to write for several national publications including ESPN.com and NFL.com. Two years earlier as a senior in high school, he began his three decades-plus coaching career that includes personal training and mental health advocacy.
